According to a recent study by comScore the number of QR Code scans in Europe's leading markets – France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United-Kingdom – has grown by 96% in 2011 to 17.4M users for the three month average period ending July 2012 representing 14.1% of the total smartphone audience. 75% of QR scans resulted in mobile users receiving product information. As Hesham Al-Jehani, European mobile product manager at comScore, points out QR Codes bring mobile users key information in their consideration of a particular product or service.
